Huawei smartphones have always been renowned for the quality of their cameras, and the mobile manufacturer’s latest offerings again don’t disappoint in this department.

Shoot like a paparazzo

Huawei’s P30 features a Leica triple-camera set-up. The main camera, a wide-angle 40MP SuperSpectrum shooter, is able to capture a wider range of colours – this camera can pick up red, yellow, yellow and blue light (RYYB) instead of the standard RGB (red, green and blue) – allowing for more detailed images, even in low-light conditions.

An additional 16MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP telephoto camera with 30x optical zoom lets users capture subjects in detail, even at great distances.

The Huawei P30 Pro is the even more upgraded big brother to the P30, and its camera set-up consists of a quad-camera array. The P30 Pro’s main camera is also a 40MP SuperSpectrum Shooter, with an additional 8MP telephoto camera, this time with a gigantic 50x digital zoom. The third camera is a 20MP ultra-wide shooter, whilst a fourth time-of-flight range imaging sensor that takes care of better background blurring.

Huawei launched their latest smartphones locally on 3 April, but the P30 and P30 Pro have had people buzzing on social media around the world since the news of the phones’ telephoto capabilities broke.
